BHUVANESHWAR
Odisha
Once the seat of power of the erstwhile Kalinga Kingdom, Bhubaneshwar was the battleground for one of the bloodiest battles ever fought. Despite its challenging past, it has always been a thriving center of art and culture.
Its many concrete lanes lead to over one thousand temples made in the Kalinga architectural style. The new Bhubaneswar with its modern buildings and extensive infrastructure perfectly complements its historic surroundings and is a prosperous center for commerce. But all its metropolitan wonders fade away in front of the charm of the temple city.
Nickname: Temple City of India
