MURUDESHWAR
Karnataka
Toning scenic charm with spiritual significance is the temple town of Murudeshwar, located on the Arabian seafront in North Karnataka. Its name is another name used for Lord Shiva.
This beach town is famous for the world’s second-tallest Shiva statue, and also for the colossal Murudeshwara Temple, with a 20-storied Gopura that is characteristic of temples in South India. Enhancing this is a beach with silvery sand that stretches further north of the temple, with the Western Ghats forming a picturesque backdrop.
