Located on the Deccan Plateau, Beed is a small town steeped in history. The stories about its origins which foray into the realm of mythology and its enigmatic monuments help to add a certain old-world charm to the city’s sleepy existence. Located on the west bank of the Bensura river, the city is protected from its violent fury by the walls of its Old Fort, one of the many wonderful treasures that surround this Deccan hamlet which seems lost in an older time.
