Aoleang Monyu Festival

At the end of the sowing season and the beginning of a new year for the Konyak tribe of Nagaland, prayers are offered for a prosperous harvest season, accompanied by celebratory traditional dances, songs, and games. The festival is usually celebrated in the first week of April every year.

We were fortunate to have arrived in Mon the day of the festival, which was being celebrated in a football field in the center of town, where almost 5,000 plus Konyaks had gathered.

Here are some of the moments we captured at this incredible cultural event of Nagaland.
