Day 24: Ziro to Mangaldai

The drive from Ziro in Arunachal Pradesh, to the base of the Himalayas in Assam, was a very picturesque drive. A new road being carved out of the mountains, not yet asphalted gave us the thrill of driving off-road!

Origin: Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh
Destination: Mangaldai, Assam
Distance Covered:  376 kms
States Covered: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam

We had a very thrilling drive on a highway still being carved out of the high mountains in Arunachal Pradesh between Potin and Bandardewa. We witnessed first-hand, the incredible job being done by the Border Roads Organisation – the unsung heroes of India’s road network!

We also met people of the Apathani and Nyishi tribes, and took pictures of their long houses and churches with strong local influences.

    Hi

Is there a way to contact you? I am planning a trip to Ziro this September and wanted to inquire after the quality of the drive. Basically, I’d like some information on how difficult/dangerous or easy the drive is from Guwahati to Ziro?
